The Alsace BioValley competitive cluster and GE Healthcare group have just signed a partnership agreement to create and develop a platform dedicated to research & development and translational medicine, which will also be a bridge between fundamental research and clinical research in Alsace. Alsace BioValley, which brings together the main organizations supporting Life Sciences in Alsace, unites public and private players in Life Science and Healthcare in the region and backs their development and growth.
The partnership agreement will be carrying out a feasibility study for the creation of a technological platform based on different fields of molecular imaging. The platform will focus on research and translational medicine and be accessible to the region's scientists and industry partnerships. "Research in Alsace, both basic and applied, from biology to the clinic, from chemistry to genetics has earned a worldwide reputation and is an excellent fit for the level of excellence that GE Healthcare looks for in its projects," explained Dominique Blanc, General Manager France, GE Healthcare .
For the partnership, GE Healthcare will be sharing its knowledge of the various imaging solutions and different types of platform currently in operation in academia and industry. Alsace BioValley will ensure that the project will be closely integrated with leading players in the area so that the available tools meet the needs of all concerned and contribute to the development of the Alsace region.
