Next October 29 and 30 the Eighth MIEC (Matériaux Innovation Eco-Conception, materials, innovation and eco-design) Show will be held in Seyne-sur-Mer (Var département). Organized by CARMA (Centre d'Animation Régional en Matériaux Avancés, regional center for advanced materials), for several years the show has been a national showcase spotlighting sustainable development efforts, the application of eco-design to the numerous special features and constraints of materials in industry, today's research for future generations.
A 1,200 square-meter exhibition area will have numerous innovations in the fields of energy, healthcare, and structural and functional materials on display. Four areas will feature eco-compatible products such as intra-urban electric cars, eco-designed recycled furniture, urban furniture in recycled plastic, a solar pressure cooker, eco-design software for engineers and designers, and much more for visitors' enjoyment. A huge mobile training and demonstration workshop of the plastic processing industry will also be set up in a semitrailer. It is called "Destination Plastic Processing".
The Eighth MIEC Technological Show will also be organizing round tables on topics such as eco-design for innovation in small businesses, conferences focussing on technical topics (application of polymers and biopolymers to the marine, automotive and healthcare industries, plant pigment characterizations, using nanomaterials for depolluting air and water, engineering innovation for the disabled, development of materials for solar and wind power).
