The Sixth Week of Sound will be held in Paris from January 13 to 17, 2009, and tour the regions from January 21 to 25, 2009. The next Show will feature even more events and meetings and visit numerous towns since 24 cities are on the agenda. The Week of Sound is an invitation to discover and become aware of the challenges of the ecology of sound for health, in schools, cities, movie houses and theaters, homes and daily life.
Professionals in the field - musicians, sound engineers, acousticians, and specialized physicians - created the Week of Sound. Every year, the event brings together the leading specialists in numerous fields so they can discuss their area of expertise and share with the public. This year more than 450 speakers will be participating in the event. Topics as diverse as 'Preventing and Caring for Hearing Disabilities', 'The Sound Identity of Cities', 'Enhancing our Recorded Sound Heritage', 'Sound Equipment in Theaters', 'Listening Arrangements', and 'Acoustics in Schools' will be addressed.
