As this is the goal set by the three Competitive Clusters (PASS, PEIFL and TRIMATEC), they signed a partnership agreement to this effect on November 5, 2009. The Pôle Parfums Arômes Senteurs Saveurs (PASS, perfume, aromas, scents, savors) hub is the number one French concentration of the world 's leading companies producing ingredients for aromas and perfumes. The Pôle Européen d'Innovation Fruits et Légumes (PEIFL, European Innovation Hub for Fruit and Vegetables) contributes to the sustainable economic development of fruit and vegetable stakeholders, in areas ranging from varietal creation to fresh and processed product marketing. The Pôle TRIMATEC is a hub positioned on green technologies. It contributes to the development of innovative joint projects in the Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Rhône-Alpes Regions.
PASS, PEIFL and TRIMATEC share a concern for developing 'environmentally responsible' processes meeting consumer demand and ensuring a high level of environmental protection. The development of the processes called 'Green Processes' applied to plant products promotes beneficial consumer and environmental trends due to lower energy consumption, the elimination of hazardous inputs and lower releases. This is the basis of the partnership between the three hubs that have set of goal of developing a hub of excellence focused on green processes in the large southeast region of France.
