Moving humans are always absent from digital simulation. So reports Patrice Le Moing, the General Manager of the Golaem startup, a product of the Bunraky team at the Rennes INRIA Center and the first project to receive support from IT-Translation, formerly INRIA-Transfert.
The new business has decided to 'get humans moving again' with their offer of a full array of solutions ranging from simple simulation (walking, eating, grabbing an object) to core skill simulation for customers. Golaem also integrates cognitive aspects to refine simulations, by relying on the latest research on human behavior.
The results are global solutions that can be exploited in numerous situations, either to improve workstation ergonomics in a production workshop, study people's behavior in dangerous areas, or even simulate crowd reactions in a train station where changes have been made, such as more automatic ticket vending machines or a new escalator.
