AREVA's Transmission and Distribution (T&D) division has signed a partnership with Ecole Centrale de Lyon (ECL, a leading engineering school) to create research and training programs on sustainable energy networks. The engineers at the division of the world's number one nuclear power company will be working with students and professors to further develop the quality of ECL's engineering program and coordinate joint research and innovation projects on sustainable energy. The engineers will also be working with the leading engineering school to promote energy efficiency on campus through energy management and eco-design initiatives and through support to students committed to environmental education projects.
"The strategic partnership will strengthen our connections and position the ECL as one of the first and foremost training partners of AREVA T&D in Europe and as a center of scientific excellence in global research and development," AREVA T&D Senior Vice President Gerhard Seyrling said. "Our close partnership with AREVA T&D will strongly contribute to our leadership in research and education in the strategic field of sustainable energy," ECL Director Patrick Bourgin stated.
