A top engineering school, Ecole Supérieure d'Ingénieurs des Travaux de la Construction de Caen (ESITC Caen, graduate school of construction engineers) offers a cutting edge curricula in the field of ecomaterials and sustainable development. A new Specialized Master in Ecomaterials and Sustainable Development will be available at the beginning of the academic year in September 2010, to meet the growing needs of the businesses in the industry.
The course will rely on the research at the school's Research Laboratory on Materials and Construction. The renowned laboratory has just been selected under European French-British research project SETARMS and BTONLIN, the joint project for flax enhancement in building materials, which was recently accredited by the Civil Engineering and Eco-construction Cluster (PGCE) in Nantes. The laboratory also puts its expertise to work for large building and public works companies and small regional businesses.
Once the Master course is completed, the graduates will have standard-setting skills and expertise to find national and international jobs where they can deploy a sustainable development approach to construction in every building and public works sector. They will also be able to participate in the design of new energy saving and low environmental impact buildings and in the design of alternative innovative construction materials.
